My favourite podcasts

Is podcast the new radio? It very well maybe. The perfect way to pass the time, I love podcasts. At work, on the commute or just chilling.  Here are a few I personally reccomend.

 The Reggie Yates Podcast

Listening to the RYP is like being in a room with your mates. Hosted with his friends Baba, Owen and Uzoo, the banter is just ever flowing, I can't even listen to this at work, as i've giggled to myself a few too many to times. They discuss everything from music to relationships. They often have some amazing guests on too, many from the creative London scene.

Adulting - Oenone

Spanning more topics I can count, The Adulting podcast has an amazing range  of guests. The host Oenone welcomes many differing voices to her podcast, and provides a space of authenticity and exploration. Each episode is refreshing and I feel like I am always learning about something new.

Dellicously Ella

There are so many wellness podcasts out there, Yet I just love Delicously Ella's laidback podcast vibe. Often hosting a various of guests whose expertise range in mental and physical wellness. This podcast explores a range of topics from diet to mentality.

There are so many small things to help us live our best life it seems. Ella and her husband Matthew Mills are excellent hosts, and ask many riveting questions.

The American police are being weaponised against innocent black people.       His murder George Floyd was brutally murdered on the streets on Minneapolis on just an ordinary Monday.  Officer Derek Chauvin knelt on George’s neck for a total of nine minutes, he decided to persistently kneel on George’s neck despite several distressed cries of ‘I can’t breathe’. Causing George to die at the scene. George’s suspected crimes were not at all heinous, he was arrested simply because someone had suspected him of using a counterfeit bill in a grocery store. Shortly after, the footage of George’s death circulated all over the internet and infiltrated platforms such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. National outrage soon followed after the incident, consequently the four police officers have were removed from their positions. The Mayor of Minneapolis Jacob Frey has since called for Chauvin’s arrest and also stated ‘He [George]  would still be alive today if he was a white...

How you can help the Yemen Crisis from home.

What is happening in Yemen?   Yemen is currently facing the world’s worse humanitarian crisis to date. The country has been devastated by a civil war, famine and a cholera epidemic. On top of this, the recent Coronavirus pandemic will likely make things considerably worse.  Save the Children estimates that 85,000 children with severe acute malnutrition might have died between April 2015 and October 2018. Today, an estimated 2 million children are acutely malnourished. Thousands of civillians will have likely died not from war but from preventable causes such as famine, disease and poor health instead. Regardless of your political opinions on the civil conflict, to see footage of children dying in Yemen is heart wrenching to say the least.     I researched the few ways I could help Yemen from my own home.    How can we help? Sign the petitons:  Your voice is way more impactful than you might think. There are countless petitions you can sig...
